plectrum lamp

Wooden plectrum shaped lamp with plexi and dimmable LED.

At first I wanted to keep the look of the wood

but as this was lasered and glued together you could still see the burn marks after sanding it. So I decided to lacquer it.

The only wood you can still see is in the ceiling mount, reminding me of the original idea. It is attached to the ceiling with a custom made metal cross.

The light consists of 5 meters of dimmable, wharm white LEDs with a 100W transfo and dimmer with remote control.

I made a pattern to optimize the light spread, cut up the roll and soldered it back again with small cables.

There are two special 4mm thick PMMA plates in the lamp, a kind of plexi especially for LED. There is a distance of about 5cm between them.

The LED strips have been attached to the top one. Turning on the light reflects the light. The openings in the top are ment to create the diffuse light on the ceiling.
