Transparent opal plexi lamp with interior of polyprop

This lamp was originally prototyped with cardboard and Japanese rice paper (kozo).

It took a few months to cut everything out and damaged some nerves in my right thumb because of the pressure of the knife. Luckily it recovered.

The design is based on the maze table you can see on the labyrinth table. I took some parts and optimized them to fit together.

You can see some animal patterns in the sides: a turtle, beatle, lion, bull and gecko.

The final version is made out of lasered opal plexi. Some prototypes were sand blasted, others remained in the original status.

I experimented with glass fiber used for polyester to get a diffuse light. Turns out it was way easer (and cleaner) with polyprop.
