Searching for new materials my laser cutting partner, Michiel from Raidho showed me a sheet of polyprop. It looks like a thick plastic and is available in different colours and thicknesses.

This material is perfecly suited for lamps as it diffuses the light nicely.

I designed something to try out it's potential: out of one sheet I designed something that could be folded into something like a rugby ball, with little structures in it: houses, cathedrals, ...

Put in a standard Ikea cord with a lamp and you have your children's lamp.
